Nathen Durasamy
composer/sound design


Award winning Mauritian-British composer  and sound designer Nathen Durasamy has had a varied and rich career including orchestrating for the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall. 
Nathen was the first composition student in the history of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of music and dance to receive 100% in their postgraduate. 
Stephen Fry described his music as both "intelligent and complex". 
Currently teaching composition and music technology at the junior department at Trinity Laban conservatoire of music and dance in London.

Claire Wickes

Composer/Sound Design

Claire Wickes is a composer who collaborates regularly with filmmakers from the UK and further afield.

With a background in orchestral and classical music, Claire enjoys using her film scores to explore and extend this musical world, and often combines electronic and acoustic sound in her writing.

In 2020, Claire began an ongoing project inspired by the book Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls by Elena Favilli and Francesca Cavallo, which documents the stories of extraordinary women. Claire hopes to honour and celebrate these women’s stories in a creative and joyful way.

Nadine Nagen

Violinist/Improvisor

 

Since completing her studies at The Royal Academy of Music and Trinity Laban, Nadine has enjoyed a diverse freelance career as a Violinist playing a range of music from Classical to Jazz, Latin, folk, pop, musical theatre and rock. Nadine enjoys composing, arranging and improvising and has developed her own style of playing that fuses Classical, Jazz & Latin Music.

Nadine’s work spans from performing and recording with artists such as Phillip Glass, Elton John, Dua Lipa, The Sex Pistols and The Cure and orchestras such as Bournemouth Symphony

Orchestra and London Contemporary Orchestra, with whom she recently did an all female empowering project in Saudi Arabia.

Nadine has made appearances on BBC radio 3, Channel 4, The Brit Awards, The Oscars, Montreux Jazz Festival, Glastonbury and Wilderness festivals, and appeared on major recordings including ‘The Matrix 4’ and ‘Bob Marley & Chineke! Orchestra’.

Rowland Sutherland

Flautist/Improvisor

Flautist Rowland Sutherland enjoys an international career in many different fields of music. He regularly performs in new music and classical ensembles, jazz groups, symphony orchestras, various non-Western groups, pop outfits and as a soloist. Many of Rowland's solo contemporary flute performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, London. He has composed and arranged music for groups, ensembles and for the BBC. 

He has played and recorded with some of the finest and most adventurous new music ensembles and dance companies in Britain. These include: New Music Players, Ixion, Lontano, Icebreaker, Uroboros, London Musici, Music Projects/London, Phoenix Dance, Jazz Xchange Music and Dance and Rambert Dance Company.

Rowland made his BBC Prom debut as soloist during its 2006 season performing Steve Reich, for his 70th birthday celebrations, alongside a number of top UK percussionists and vocal group Synergy at the Royal Albert Hall.

Meera Raja

Cellist/Improvisor

British-Indian cellist Meera Priyanka Raja studied at the Royal College of Music with Alexander Chaushian. She was supported by the Musicians’ Company Lambert Scholarship and the Help Musicians UK Postgraduate Award. She is currently a Musician’s Company Young Artist.
Meera enjoys a busy and varied career as a freelancer. She has performed
across the country and Europe in venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. Her experience in Indian Classical Music has led her to play a solo track on the album, ‘Essence of Raga Tala.’ Meera regularly performs with Her Ensemble, Chineke! Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of India as well as theatre productions and recording sessions across the UK. She loves exploring new works with the London Sinfonietta and collaborating with alternative Art disciplines.

Máté Tőzsér

Hornist/Actor

Hornist Máté studied at University of Debrecen where he completed his bachelor’s degree. During his studies he performed with the Kodály Philharmonic Debrecen and the Danubia Orchestra in Budapest. He also took part in many national and international competitions, receiving awards as both a soloist and a chamber musician. After his undergraduate studies, he completed  a Masters in Dresden, Germany. Máté has worked with the Freiberg theater, Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and Southbank Sinfonia. Máté also works as an actor.

Lois Au

Bassoonist/Actor

Lois held the bassoon chair for The National Theatre’s The Light Princess and has since played as a multi-instrumentalist (clarinet/flute/saxophone) in other west end productions such as Wind in The Willows, Phantom of The Opera, Caroline or Change and Charlie and The Chocolate factory. She has recently held the position of musical director at Shakespeare’s Globe for Richard II and is now enjoying a freelance career, playing with orchestras such as: Aurora Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, LSO, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, London Mozart Players, Britten Sinfonia, Irish Chamber Orchestra and World Orchestra for Peace.Lois is also a frequent session musician and records many film soundtracks, some of which include: The Crown, Rebecca, Cats, Cinderella, Enola Holmes, The Joker and Shazam.

Isha Crichlow

Clarinettist

British clarinettist Isha Crichlow leads

a busy and varied freelance career as an orchestral player and soloist. Over the past year, Isha has performed as a guest player with many UK orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Chineke! Orchestra, Multi-Story Orchestra and Aurora Orchestra.Isha also performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician. Recent engagements include recitals in Crete with Greek pianist Dimitris Karydis, recitals at the New North London Synagogue, and concertos by Weber and Peter Maxwell Davies with the Morley Chamber Orchestra.In addition to her musical career, Isha is passionate about nature and conservation and is a keen birdwatcher. She combined these interests in a birdsong-inspired solo recital as part of the 2019 Sound Unbound festival at the Barbican Centre, which included the world premiere of Ornithology by Marcus Dawe.
